Philippians 4:19

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. How much money do you have? How much money does your dad have? How much money does God have? God’s riches are limitless! He owns everything! So when you have a need, do you check your piggy bank? Or if you have a need, do you ask your dad for help? Or if you have a need, do you ask your heavenly Father to help you? Your dad can help you, but he has a limit to what he can do. But our heavenly Father, well, His resources are limitless! He will never run out of money! When you need something, just ask Him. He will take care of you.

Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Do you ever feel like you can’t do what others expect you to do? Do you feel that others push you beyond what you can deliver? In our verse for today, the apostle Paul is saying that Jesus Christ is his helper and that nothing is impossible with Jesus’ help. Isn’t it good to know that there is someone who believes in you? That there is someone that you can count on to help you in difficult situations? Isn’t it good to know that with Jesus, you can do just about anything? Isn’t it wonderful to know that Jesus is with you, helping you each and every day? That is exactly how Paul felt. Paul knew he could depend on Jesus. Do you know that you can depend on Jesus?

Philippians 4:11

Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. John D. Rockefeller, one of the richest men to have ever lived, was asked how much money was enough. He replied, “Just a little more.” Most people’s problem is not that they need more money, but that they need to learn to live on the money that they have. The money that God gives us is enough. Just like our verse says, we need to learn to be content with what we have. That means that we should not want more and more, but learn to live on less and less. Be satisfied with what we have, because that is what God has given us.

Philippians 4:8

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Have you ever noticed that you never do anything unless you think about it first? And have you ever noticed that you can’t think about two things at once? Both of these are important to our verse for today. Paul says to think about these good things. If you think about these good things, you won’t be able to think about bad things – at the same time. And if you think about these good things, you will probably do good things because that’s what you are thinking about. So ... think about good things and good things will happen.

Philippians 4:6,7

Philippians 4:6,7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. The phrase be careful for nothing does not mean not to take care, it means not to worry about anything. And verse seven tells us why we should not worry. We should not worry because we have the peace of God. And how do we get the peace of God? By trusting in God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. If we have Jesus, we have God. If we have God, we have true peace. God will meet our needs and will take care of us all of our lives, all the way to heaven. And that is the peace of God!

Philippians 4:4

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. This is a good verse, but a puzzling verse. When a loved one gets cancer, should we rejoice? When someone that we know dies, should we rejoice? No, not really. So what is Paul saying in our verse? Did you know that sometimes bad things happen to good people? Sometimes God is using bad things in our lives to teach us to trust Him. God may use bad things that happen in our lives to teach other people to trust Him. God may even let bad things happen in our lives so that we will pray more. God may let bad things happen in our lives so that others can see how we trust God in bad times. In each situation, God knows what He is doing and He is in charge. He still loves us and remembers where we are. So in every situation, we can rejoice in God, because He loves us and is taking us through. He will be with us. And for that, we can be happy.
