Matthew 25:31.32

Matthew 25:31,32 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. When Jesus Christ comes back to earth to accept His kingdom, some nations will be pleasing to Him and some will not. And, when Jesus comes back to earth to accept His kingdom, some people will be pleasing to Him and some will not. Here Jesus compares them to sheep and to goats. The sheep are good, but the goats are bad. Now, don’t get me wrong; I like goats too. But in this parable, the goats were not as good as the sheep were. And it is interesting that Jesus said His sheep and the goats. The sheep pleased Jesus because they were His; they belonged to Him. So, what about you? Do you belong to Jesus? Are you His? Are you pleasing to Him? Are you trying to please Him. If you love Jesus and put Him first in your heart and life, He is pleased with you. Jesus loves you. Do you love Him? If you do, He is pleased with you. You are His sheep.

Matthew 25:14,15

Matthew 25:14,15 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Jesus tells a parable about a man with three servants. He was going on a long trip and left his servants work to do. He knew that each of his three servants had different abilities, so he left them stuff to do according to their abilities. One had a big list; he was a good worker and pretty smart. Another was left less work; he was a good man, but not quite as good as the first. And then there was the last servant. He just never could quite get the hang of things. So the Master left him just a little work to see if he just might be able to pull it off. When the Master returned from his trip, he called all three in to check up on their progress. The top servant had done twice the work! Wow! What a good worker! But the second one doubled his work load as well. He hadn’t finished quite as much as the first worker, but he had done great. But then there was the last servant. He returned all the tools to the Master that he had been given. They were all there. But no work had been done. Nothing at all. You could just see the Master’s face getting red. Was he mad! “What!” he cried, “I left you just one little job to do and you did nothing?!” “But, but,” the lazy servant stammered. “I was afraid that I wouldn’t do the job exactly the way you wanted it to be done. So I didn’t do anything.” So the Master took everything away from the last servant and gave it to the first servant. Even with more work to do, the Master was sure that he could get it all finished. After all, he was his best worker. But the last man; well, what a disappointment he was to the Master. So what do you think about the parable? What about the three workers? And what kind of a worker are you? Are you trustworthy and faithful? Or are you lazy and careless? Can God depend on you? Or is God disappointed in you? Remember, it’s never to late to make a change. A change for the better.

Matthew 25:1,2

Matthew 25:1,2 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Jesus tells a parable about ten bridesmaids who had come to a wedding. The bride and bridegroom were to arrive later, but no one knew exactly when. Back in those days, no one had a watch to keep time. They didn’t have a phone to call and say that they would be late. Neither did they have a cell phone to call and say that they were finally on their way and would be there in ten minutes. So the bridesmaids in our story simply had to be ready for whenever the bride and groom arrived. And in this parable, five of the girls were wise and five of them were lazy. When it got late, the wise bridesmaids went out and bought oil for their lamps. It was getting on towards evening and soon would be dark. But the lazy girls didn’t want to be bothered. They thought, “Oh, we can go our later and get some oil.” But when the bride and groom showed up about midnight, all ten girls jumped up out of bed and grabbed their lamps to go out to meet the happy couple. But five had oil in their lamps with lights burning and five didn’t. What good is a lamp and no oil? So the five without oil quickly ran out to get some, but got back too late. Everyone was already inside at the wedding feast and they were ashamed. And so it is with the second coming of Jesus Christ. He is going to come, but we don’t know when. He will come suddenly and we should be ready. Are you ready for Jesus to return? I hope so.

Matthew 24:41,42

Matthew 24:41,42 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Our verses yesterday talked about Jesus’ second coming. The verses told us how suddenly His return would be. And our verses for today go on to remind us that we should be ready for when Jesus does come back. It will be so sudden that there will be no time to prepare. Have you planned a fire drill at your house? You should. When a fire starts at your house, you will probably be sleeping. When you awaken suddenly, there will be no time to think. There will only be time to act – and act very quickly. You should think about what to do in case of a fire now, before a fire happens and practice what you are to do in order to be ready. And that is what we should do for the second coming of Jesus Christ. We should prepare and be ready. We should trust Christ as our Savior and be busy encouraging others to be saved too. Are you ready for Jesus sudden return? Are you prepared?

Matthew 24:37-40

Matthew 24:37-40 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. When Jesus Christ came to earth over two thousand years ago, very few people were ready for His coming. When King Jesus comes back the second time soon, very few people will again be ready for His coming. And Jesus likens His second coming to the way the flood came upon the earth in the days of Noah. Noah was working and preaching, but very few people believed that what he said was going to happen. That is until, it began to rain. Then many believed – but it was too late. God had already shut the door to the ark. And when Jesus comes back to the earth the second time, He will call all of His believers up to meet Him in the air. And again, it will be too late for the unbelievers who will be left behind to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Those who believe will be taken up suddenly. Those who do not believe will be left behind. Will you be ready for that day? I hope so!
