One of the hardest things about the Covid Stay-at-home is
the boredom. Without church on
Wednesdays and Sundays, I don’t know what day of the week it is. Every day is the same. I used to soooo look forward to the weekend
when things slowed down. Now, every day
is slow. Time was when I began to
anticipate the weekend about Wednesday.
You know - Hump Day - with Caleb the camel. The worst of the week is over, and the
weekend is coming. Thursday is better
and Friday is great! The only thing bad
about the weekend is the knowledge that Monday is coming. As much as I looked forward to the weekend, I
dreaded Mondays. Have you noticed that
there are Mondays in every week? Actually,
there’s a whole string of Mondays ahead!
But there will be a day when Mondays will end. God has promised His children an eternal
rest. The writer of the book of Hebrews
said in Hebrews 4:9, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.” He was talking about the eternal rest that we
will enjoy someday when we are safe in the arms of our Savior, Jesus
Christ. So as much as you might dread
Mondays, there is an eternal “weekend” coming.
Have you trusted in Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If you have, you have that eternal rest to
look forward to! Just imagine, an
eternal weekend with no Monday in sight!
