Roundabout in Romania

 

I have a dear friend in Romania, Pastor Florin Doboş.  He visited here in America and remarked, “I don’t know how anyone here in America ever gets lost.”  That is because of our wide interstates and huge directional signs.  But Romania … well, that’s another story.  There is only one tiny little sign the size of car license plate pointing the way to a city of a million people.  The route number doesn’t matter; you must know the names of the cities and towns on the way.  We were in Sebeş in 1992 and I was leading a group of twenty people in three vans.  My dear wife was in the front seat beside me trying to read the map.  We got to the center of town looking for the way to Sebiu.  We entered the round-about and Kathy was looking on the map for the next town.  So, I just went around the circle again.  She still couldn’t find the next town, so I went around again, and again …  With our three vans going around the round-about, we didn’t know who was following whom.  Hey, have you ever found that the person that you were following didn’t know where they were going?  Hey, people fail us time and time again.  If we follow people, they will let us down.  But if we follow Jesus, He will NEVER let us down!  Jesus told the disciples that He was going away and that they would follow Him later.  But they were puzzled.  In John 14:5&6, “Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  Hey, Jesus doesn’t just know the way, He IS the way!  Jesus knows how to get you safely to heaven because He is the one who will take you there.  That is if you put your faith in Him.  Hey, have you put your faith in Jesus?  Now would be a good time to do it.  Yes, right now.
