Have you ever had a tragedy in your life? Not just a bad day, but a real tragedy? Have you had a loved one pass away
suddenly? Have you lost a job? Have you had a difficult diagnosis? Events like these can shake you to your
foundation. But really, what is your
foundation built upon? Jesus reminded us
that we should build our life’s house upon a strong foundation. A foundation of stone, not sand. Years ago, a friend asked me to help him
rebuild his house after a fire. It was
easy to begin the rebuilding process because the foundation was still
there. The wooden superstructure was
destroyed, but the concrete foundation was still intact. If you have a strong foundation, life can
bring you tragedies, but you will rebuild.
Hey, see that your foundation is secure.
Make sure that your foundation is Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul said in
I Corinthians 3:10&11, “According to the grace of God which is given unto
me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth
thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other
foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
