Connections

Friday, I went out to the driveway to cut some shelving boards for the garage.  I set up the sawhorses, got out the extension cord, and plugged in my circular saw.  Suddenly I saw sparks and a wisp of black smoke from the electrical connection.  I quickly unplugged the saw and investigated.  I was upset with the extension cord because I had only had it for a month, and it had a short!  I resolved to take it back to Lowe’s the next day.  I didn’t have the receipt nor the original packaging, but Lowe’s is pretty good about customer service.  And, I knew the guy behind the service desk.  So, I got out my longer extension cord and plugged my saw into it.  Suddenly, I saw the same sparks and the same wisp of black smoke.  I quickly unplugged the saw, but one of the saw’s prongs was left smoking in the extension cord.  The problem was a faulty plug on the saw and not the extension cord after all!  I owed the new extension cord an apology.  I didn’t have a repair plug, but I used a replacement plug from an older cord, and I was back into business.  I’ll go by Lowe’s today and get a replacement plug for my replacement plug that I replaced.  Hey, have you ever blamed someone for a conflict only to find out later that the problem was another person’s fault?  Matthew 7:1&2, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."  So today, be careful before you pass judgement.  Things may not be as you first suspect them to be.  And I’ll do the same.  ;<)
