I Timothy 4:12 Let
no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in
conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Usually we think
that the older people should be examples to the younger people. Those who have
been saved for a long time should be more faithful to church; They should have
their tempers under control because they have been at it for a long time. The
older folk should be the Sunday School teachers and the song leaders. But that
isn’t what our verse for today says. Paul told young Timothy that he was to be
an example to the older church members, and Paul was right! Isn’t it refreshing
to see young people leading in the church?! Isn’t it great to see young people
who love the Lord and want to serve Him?! A younger generation who loves God is
an encouragement to the entire congregation! Their excitement is contagious and
an example to everyone! I am glad for faithful adults, but I am more excited
about faithful teens! How refreshing! What a great example to everyone!
Christian teenagers leading for the Lord!
This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

I Timothy 3:16
I Timothy 3:16 And
without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the
flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world, received up into glory. While writing to young
Timothy, Paul is suddenly overwhelmed by the wonder of the Gospel of Jesus
Christ. Isn’t it amazing how that the Creator of the Universe could be born as
a baby?! Isn’t it almost beyond understanding how that God could become a man?!
Why should God love us so much that He would give His only begotten Son to pay
for our sins on the cross of Calvary?! Hey, I’m with Paul – God’s love and
salvation is beyond my understanding! Thank you, dear Lord for our great salvation!

I Timothy 3:1,6,7
I Timothy 3:1,6,7
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a
good work. Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the
condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which
are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. When a
man becomes a preacher, it is a wonderful thing. But when a man becomes a
preacher, he also takes on a serious responsibility. So at the same time, it is
a wonderful privilege and an awesome responsibility. And Paul reminds young
Timothy that the office of pastor needs experience. When a man is saved, he
must grow in the Lord and study the Bible and gain experience before he takes
on the responsibility of pastoring a church. A pastor can be a young man, but
he needs to be a man with wisdom and understanding. He needs to have a good
reputation both in the church and outside of the church. To be a good pastor
takes time. We should pray for our pastor and help him to be all that God wants
him to be.
