Proverbs 30:5

Proverbs 30:5  Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. The Bible is the only book that is always true. It is never wrong and never has to be updated. Even though it was written hundreds of years ago, it is just as up to date as tomorrow's newspaper. We can read it and know that we are reading God's absolute truth! When a Roman soldier went into battle, he used a spear and sword and sometimes a bow and arrow, but he depended upon his shield to defend against the enemy's advances. Satan is our enemy and we need God's Word to defend against Satan's advances. God's Word is our shield! If we trust in the Bible and read it and learn what it means, we can be safe. Actually, that's what you are doing right now!
