Mark 9:38-40 And
John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name,
and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But
Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my
name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on
our part. John was getting a little uppity. He corrected someone else just
because the other person was not following Jesus like the disciples were. But
this other person was doing good things in the name of Jesus. So Jesus had to
rebuke John. Jesus said, “Leave this other person alone. If he is doing good
things in my name, that’s OK. He is doing good things in my name. Leave him
alone.” There are many churches that are not exactly like us. But the question
is, what do they say about Jesus and about His Word, the Bible? If they believe
in Jesus, they are not our enemies. If they believe in the Bible, but interpret
it a little different than we do, they are not the enemy. That’s not my
opinion; that’s what Jesus said. And Jesus said, leave them alone. They that
are not against us are for us. Good advice.
