Seasons of Life

The forsythia have been out for three weeks and the daffodils just began to pop last week.  It won’t be long before each flower will make its debut in its own time.  The flowers are God’s orchestra with each playing a part in the symphony of life.  Many have supporting parts and go almost unnoticed.  But many flowers have solo parts in God’s grand orchestra and draw your attention with their beautiful colors.  Hey, we humans have special parts to play in our seasons of life.  Most of us have supporting parts and work behind the scenes to make things happen.  Some of us have solo parts when all eyes are upon us and upon our accomplishments.  But most solo parts last for just a few moments, and then another takes center stage.  Each of us have the responsibility to do our best in each season of our lives.  Hey, be the best teenager that you can helping others to grow to their full potential.  Be the best parent that you can nurturing your little ones along the way.  Be the best adult mentor that you can be pointing others toward the right direction.  And be the best granddaddy that a grandchild has ever had.  Leave a legacy behind … a legacy of service to God and of service to other people.  Solomon reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”  Don’t waste your time wishing you were older.  Don’t waste your time regretting the past.  Do your best in this season of your life.  Serve God.  Serve man.  Enjoy life.  Live with no regrets.  Then smile when you meet your Maker.
