The Great Wall of China

 

The Great Wall of China has many branches added to by many emperors over many centuries.  The main part is over 13,000 miles long with guard towers and fortified gates along the Silk road.  The wall was not broken through nor scaled over, but just 100 years after it was finished, the enemy bribed the guards and flooded into China to pillage and destroy.  It would have been better if the Chinese had worked on the character of their children instead of the masonry of the wall.  David said in Psalm 127:3, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”  Hey, what will you be remembered for?  How much money you collected?  How many business deals that you clinched?  How big of a house that you had?  How big of a wall you built?  Or will you be remembered for the children that you reared?  Will your children serve the good Lord? Will your children serve their fellow man?  Hey, it’s up to you.  Think about it.
