In 1972 Kathy and I bought our trailer. It was fifty feet long and twelve feet wide. It had beautiful avocado green shag carpeting, but we loved it. My wife cried and cried when we got our payment book. We financed the $5,000 trailer for seven years at $84 a month. I worked at Blue Cross of Tennessee in the printing department taking home $98 twice a month. Kathy stretched every dollar until George Washington cried out. But we were happy. I had her and she had me and that was all that we needed. Hey, how much money do you need to be happy? What position in your company do you need to feel successful? Hey, what about your spiritual life? Is Jesus enough? Is the dear Lord REALLY all that you need? Many preachers today are preaching the “new” gospel of health wealth, and prosperity. They say, “God wants you to have a BMW, live in a mansion, and be healed of your cancer. Just send me your faith gift and …” Paul warned us about false teachers in Galatians 1:6&7 when he said, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” These charlatans are preaching “another gospel”, which is not really another way to heaven. That’s because there is only one way, and that way is Jesus Christ. Let me ask you, is Jesus enough? Are you trusting in Him alone to get you to heaven? Hey, Jesus is the only way! Rest in Jesus. Trust in Jesus. Keep things simple. Jesus is all that you need.
