Appointment

Kathy has many medical issues, most of them related to diabetes.  And to keep her going, we have several doctors’ appointments each week.  I am convinced that people retire so that they have time to go to all of the doctor appointments that old age requires.  To keep all of these appointments organized, we have a calendar on the side of the refrigerator.  This calendar is the “official” Whitely calendar.  Every doctor appointment must be entered onto that calendar.  And each Sunday, I scan the calendar to see what appointments we have coming up that week.  Hey, did you know that you have an appointment with God?  Not just any appointment, but your final appointment with God.  When you pass into eternity, you will meet your Maker, either at the Bema Seat Judgement of his saints (II Corinthians 5:10), or at the Great White Throne Judgement of the sinners (Revelation 20:11-15).  You will keep that final appointment, but which one will it be?  The decision is up to you, but you must make it BEFORE you enter into eternity.  The writer of the book of Hebrews said in Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”  Which one of those two appointments will you keep?  Think carefully, for you WILL keep one of them.  The decision is up to you.
