Heart Attack

My wife had a heart attack just before Christmas almost four years ago.  With good doctors and good care at Memorial hospital, she survived and did well.  During a stress test at Vanderbilt Hospital a year later, she had another heart attack.  Again, she was in good hands, and again, she recovered and did well.  Hey, did you know that you have several heart attacks each day?  Oh, these are not physical heart attacks like the ones that my wife had; these are spiritual heart attacks led by Satan or one of his minions.  Satan is out to get you and he uses every opportunity to attack your heart that he can.  Paul described our spiritual warfare in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”  you have an adversary who attacks your heart each day.  Satan is out to get you, make no mistake.  But you have a Savior, Who has redeemed you and Who fights your battles: Jesus Christ, the Mighty One!  So, to defend against a heart attack, you must be prepared.  Paul said in Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”  God’s armor is your defense against Satan’s heart attacks.  And when you’ve made your preparations with God, then stand bold.  Resist Satan’s heart attacks … in the power of God.
