I detest sitting in a doctor’s office. It is accurately called the “waiting room”! Why do I even have an appointment?! I am only going to sit there and wait until the doctor is ready to see me. Just once I would like the receptionist to say, “You have an appointment to see Dr. So-and-so for 10 am, but just come at noon because he probably won’t see you until then.” So, can you imagine Mary waiting for her baby to be born? She told her family about a “virgin birth”, but no one believed her … not even her fiancé Joseph … that is until he got a vision from God himself! But no one in Joseph’s family believed him either. And they could not believe that Joseph would go ahead and marry Mary anyway! And then the nine months of waiting began. Fortunately for Mary, she had a cousin named Elisabeth who had a similar problem. Elisabeth was expecting John, but she could have been John’s grandmother! Mary and Elisabeth shared their fears with each other. They cried on one another’s shoulder! But they also shared excitement until little John was born! What a wonderful time of waiting it was! Hey, God has the answer to your problems. The dear Lord will not leave you alone but will give you just what you need … and just when you need it! Paul reminds us in I Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” Are you frustrated? Are you fearful? Are you waiting? Jesus will meet you in your time of need and sit there and wait with you until the answer comes. Yes, He will!
