The key to the Christian life is progress, not perfection. Just because we aren’t perfect doesn’t mean we aren’t loved by the Lord. Life is a struggle, and we will not be perfect until our bodies are redeemed in heaven. So, why do we expect perfection from others? We can’t deliver perfection ourselves. The key is progress. Hey, you put floaties on your child and practice swimming in the shallow end of the pool. Only after time do you allow them to venture into the deep end. Your child begins on a tricycle (close to the ground) and progresses to training wheels. You don’t start with a 26” bicycle with hand brakes. It takes time. Peter denied the Lord, but the resurrected Jesus gave him a second chance. Peter said in I Peter 2:2, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” Remember, Progress, not Perfection.
