Love is freely given by one person to another. You can demand loyalty, but you cannot demand love. You can demand truthfulness, but you cannot demand love. You cannot coerce love, you cannot bribe love, you cannot persuade love, you cannot entice love, you cannot convince love, nor can you intimidate love because love is freely given. When Jesus was asked, “Lord, what is the greatest commandment?” he responded in Matthew 22:37-39, “…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Jesus said that the greatest thing that you can do is to love God. And the second greatest thing that you can do is to love your fellow man. But loving God and loving others is yours to give, because love is freely given.
