Two weeks ago, I changed out three big high intensity lights
at church for three LED’s. The new
lights were the same brightness but were smaller, lighter, and cooler to
operate. I changed out the old 900-watt
dimmer switches for new 125-watt switches, but made a mess with sheetrock dust
all over the floor. I went to the
utility closet for a vacuum cleaner only to find an old machine that barely
worked. The bag was full, the hose was
cracked, and the beater bar wrapped with hair and carpet strings. The beater bar belt was intact, but its
driver gear was stripped. After I
cleaned everything, the suction was still minimal. After an hour of work, the old machine was no
nearer to working than when I had started.
We just needed a new vacuum cleaner.
So, I threw away the parts in my trash can at home and threw the chasis
into the church dumpster. Hey, sometimes
in life you come to the point where you realize that you are getting
nowhere. What you are doing just isn’t
working. And when you do, it’s time to
give up and give in to Jesus Christ.
Jesus knows your past, your current problems, and your future, and it’s
time for Jesus to take over. Jesus said
in Matthew 16:25&26, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and
whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man
profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what
shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Hey, cut your losses and trust in Jesus Christ. You’ll never be sorry that you did.
