Isaiah 53:4,5

Isaiah 53:4,5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Jesus was just like those Old Testament lambs that were sacrificed at the Temple. The man would bring the lamb to the priest. Then he would lay his hands upon the head of the lamb and signify that the lamb was taking away his sins, and the lamb was killed. The lamb took away the sins of the
man . . . for just that one year. But Jesus Christ was wounded for our sins. He was punished for our iniquities. He paid, once and for all, the sins of the entire world! Jesus paid the permanent sacrifice for our sins. And with the sacrifice of Jesus, we are free from our sins and we can go to heaven when we die. We are free! Totally free from our sins!

Isaiah 40:29-31

Isaiah 40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. I am getting to be an old man. But I can remember in 1968 when I ran 17 miles in a race from Dayton, Tennessee to Spring City Tennessee. But now, I can only run to the dining room table. Our verses for today tell us that God will give us the daily strength that we need. He gives strength to the faint. God is the source of our energy. Even when strong people give up, God’s strength is still there; God’s energy is still available to us.

Isaiah 40:28

Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. God never gets tired. God never sleeps. God never has a thought to occur to Him. He has already thought of everything! Absolutely everything. So what does God actually know? Absolutely everything! Hey, we can rest easy – God is in control. God knows what He is doing!
