I Corinthians 13:1-3

I Corinthians 13:1-3 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. There are many things that a Christian should be doing and there are many things that a Christian should not be doing But one thing is clear in our verses for today: Christians should love one another and Christians should love people outside of the church. Hey, that’s just about everyone! We may not like everyone, but we should love them just as Christ loves them. We should love our Christian brothers and sisters just as Christ loved us. And we should love those who don’t go to church just like Jesus loved sinners. Jesus loved Zacchaeus, the crooked tax collector. Jesus loved the outcast leper with a contagious disease. Jesus loved Mary Magdalene, a wicked woman. Jesus loved Nicodemus, a religious man. Jesus loved his disciples and didn’t give up on them even though they gave up on Him. And Jesus was our great example. If we truly love people, we will be patient with them and not give up on them. I am glad that Jesus loved me and didn’t give up on me. And Jesus won’t give up on you! So don’t give up on other people either. Love them – just like Jesus loves you!
