I Corinthians
15:39-43 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of
men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There
are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial
is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the
sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one
star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the
dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in
dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in
power: Things are different. Birds are different than people. Birds have
wings and can fly, but people cannot. But people can think and dream and figure
things out. The earth is one thing, but the sun is different. I am glad that we
live on the earth. If we were on the sun, we would burn up! But if we didn’t
have the sun to warm the earth, we would freeze on earth. So both the earth and
the sun are necessary. We humans are different from Angels. We have three
parts: body, soul and spirit. God breathed into Adam and he became a living
soul. But Adam sinned, and passed his sin nature on to his children, and on to
us. We need to be born again. And when we are born again into God’s forever
family, we are given the spirit of God. We will live forever with God, our
heavenly Father. So when we die, our spirit goes to heaven to be with God and
our loved ones cry and bury our physical body. Our body is put into the ground.
But someday, it will be resurrected and reunited with our spirit. That is
called the Rapture of the Saints. Jesus will come back in the clouds, the
archangel will sound his trumpet, and three wonderful things will happen. Those
who are saved will be instantly changed into their glorified eternal bodies.
Those who are dead will be changed, they will come up from where they are buried,
and they will be reunited with their spirits. Then all who are saved, will go
up to heaven to be with God in their new, resurrected bodies to be with the
Father and the Son of God forever and forever. What a day that will be!
