II Corinthians
9:6,7 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and
he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as
he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:
for God loveth a cheerful giver. Paul’s point is that if you have more
money, you can give more money. For example, if a farmer wants to reap a
harvest, he must put plenty of seed into the soil. If he doesn’t plant the seed,
he won’t reap a harvest. And so it is with giving. If we are tight with our
money, God will not bless us. That doesn’t mean that we should be poor all of
the time. We should work and earn money so that we can take care of our family
and give to God’s kingdom. And remember, God loves a cheerful giver.
