I have good neighbors around me. Well, most of them. Except for the two with the barking
dogs. But that’s for another day. We have one neighbor across the street that
is a mortician. He is an otherwise nice
man, but my wife says that he gives her chills when he waves to us from his
mailbox. She says, “It is as if he is
sizing us up for a casket.” But,
actually, death IS stalking each and every one of us. We are only a heartbeat away from meeting the
undertaker. Not a very pleasant thought,
huh? But if you have made your peace
with your Maker, you have nothing to fear from death. But if you haven’t made peace with God, it is
only natural to fear death. For one,
death means heaven, but for the other death means … I remember the story of the undertaker who
closed his letters with, “Eventually yours”.
Think about it and prepare for that day.
