Plagiarism used to be rampant in college when I was a
student. Copying another’s work was easy
and common. The profs invested much time
and energy ferreting out offenders. But
like Whack-a-mole, one is smacked but another one pops up. But, that was before the days of Google. Just highlight a section of a research paper,
copy, and paste in Google, and suddenly the true originator of the thought pops
up on the screen, and the plagiarizer is exposed. But there is one type of plagiarism that is
acceptable - or even encouraged. That is
plagiarizing the Bible. God’s Word
hidden in the hearts of His people are powerful words. “Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts,
Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and
this people wood, and it shall devour them.” Jeremiah 5:14 Do not be afraid to read God’s Word, to learn
God’s Word, and to use God’s Word, because it is living and powerful, and able
to change the hearts of men. Hey, it
will change you … if you let it.
