Innsbruck

In 2005, Kathy and I took two seniors with Sonney and Margaret Housley on a trip to France, Austria, and Germany.  We worked for three days at the Institut Pastoral Biblique Baptiste in Algarange, France and then did some sightseeing in Austria.  We spent two days in Innsbruck.  Innsbruck is a famous ski destination with mountains surrounding the city.  I rode an inclined train up to Hungerburg station, then took a cablecar from there to Seegrule station where I caught another steeper gondola car to the top at Hafelekar station.  It was a fifteen-minute hike to the very top of Hafelekarspitze at more than 7,600 feet.  And there, near the top, I found round pebbles, the kind you find in a stream bed that are rounded from tumbling in the water.  But I was at the top of a mountain!  How did those rounded pebbles get there?  Could they have been left over from Noah’s universal, world-wide flood?  I think so.  The nearby mountains composed of sedimentary rock (water-made) had layer upon layer now tilted at a steep angle.  Evidence of extreme pressure and subsequent warping from huge mountain ranges colliding when the flood waters subsided.  What exquisite evidence of the truth of God’s Word, the Bible!  Paul was right to say in II Timothy 3:16&17, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”  And here at the top of a mountain in Austria was evidence in stone!  You can trust the Bible!  Read it. Study it.  Live it.
