Greyson was over visiting Wednesday and came in the house and announced to me, “I set a trap in the back yard for a bird.” I nodded and he went on, “You need to check the trap tomorrow.” So I did. But I found two problems. First. there was no trigger for the trap. I guess the bird will just walk around until it accidentally bumps into the stick and knocks it over. And secondly, he used one of my breath mints as bait. I’m not sure if birds prefer breath mints to the sunflower seeds nearby. We’ll see, Greyson, we’ll see.
