“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” - Soren Kierkegaard It’s easy to look back and see the mistakes that you made in life. It’s so much harder to see mistakes BEFORE you make them. Have you noticed how much bigger the windshield is on a car than the rear-view mirror? Oh, it’s necessary to see behind your vehicle, but it is more important to see forward. It’s more important to see where you are going than where you have been. Hey, in life, you can’t do anything about the past. It’s gone. Let it go. But you can do something about the future. You can control where you are going. So, focus most of your attention on where you are going, not on where you have been. Paul said in Philippians 3:13&14, “… forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Learn from past mistakes, but don’t live in the past. Press on into the future. Press on.
