When I was five years old, my parents moved from West Virginia to Maryland. They found a family in Joppa who had an upstairs apartment to rent. There were two rooms upstairs and a bath. Mom and Dad used one room as the bedroom and the other room as the dining room/living room/kitchen. Mom had a single electric hotplate that she cooked on. No oven, but she got by. The Epperd family were gracious and treated us well. But there were awkward times because we were just renting. Hey, when we are born into God’s forever family, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us. But do we allow the Holy Spirit the freedom to control our lives, or do we just give the Holy Spirit a room or two upstairs? Do we live our lives selfishly for six days, inviting God in just on Sunday? Jesus said in John 16:13, “…Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” The blessed Holy Spirit will fill us and guide us only if we let Him. Hey, is the Holy Spirit guiding you, or does he just have a room or two upstairs? Why not talk to Him right now and invite Him to take control of your life?
