Sometimes those who teach the Bible and preach the Bible (including me) have a tendency to make things complicated. Oh, I know there are deep theological truths that thrill me, but the most important things are simple enough that children can understand them. But often we, who have been in the Bible for decades, have a tendency to complicate simple truths. Jesus said in Mark 10:15, “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” The context (the verse before and the verse after) confirms what Jesus said in this verse. Simply put: a child can understand and accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved. Or another way of saying it is, “The main thing should be the plain thing, and the plain thing should be the main thing.” Get it? Got it! Good.
