Embarrassing

At cardiac rehab, after I use an exercise machine, I pull out an alcohol wipe and sanitize the machine.  And since I work out on 5 machines, I carry the wipe with me using it multiple times.  My last exercise is using dumbbells to work my shoulders doing presses, work my biceps doing curls, and work my quads doing squats.  So, Monday, I laid down my alcohol wipe on the exercise bench, picked up my dumbbells off of the rack, and sat down on the bench … right onto my alcohol wipe.  As I felt the moisture through the seat of my jeans, I jumped up, but it was too late: I had an embarrassing wet spot right on the seat of my pants.  And the more that I tried explaining the spot to my exercise buddies the more they laughed.  The same is true in my spiritual life: the more that I try to make excuses for my sin, the more that the dear Lord doesn’t buy it!  Hey, nothing can be explained away or hidden from an all-knowing, all-seeing God!  Proverbs 28:13, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
