II Corinthians 6:17,18

II Corinthians 6:17,18 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. We must watch getting too friendly with unsaved people. We should be different from them. We should have different goals. We should spend our money on different things. We should use our time differently. We should love spiritual things. We should be closer to God and value Godly things. We should be uncomfortable around non-Christians, because we are not of this world. We are pilgrims on our way to heaven. And that’s just the way it should be.

II Corinthians 6:14-16

II Corinthians 6:14-16 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. In Bible times the farmers used two oxen or two horses, or two donkeys to plow with. That gave him twice the pulling power. But often the farmer had two unmatched animals. One was stronger than the other. Or one had longer, more powerful legs than the other. Or one could outlast the other. The stronger animal ended up pulling more than his share of the work load. It wasn’t fair. And so it is with a Christian and an unbeliever. How can they get along? One loves God and the other doesn’t. One wants to give money to missionaries and the other wants to spend money on beer and cigarettes. One wants to go to church and the other wants to go to the lake. Christians do not have much in common with their unsaved acquaintances. They have different likes and dislikes. We have more in common with God than we do with our unsaved neighbors. And that’s the way it should be.

II Corinthians 5:21

II Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. We have the most wonderful exchange here in our verse for today. Do you know what a bargain is? In a bargain, the seller believes he got the best deal but the buyer believes that he got the best deal. But in our salvation, we sinners absolutely got the best part of the deal. We traded our dirty rotten sins and in exchange, Jesus Christ gave us His eternal life. What a deal for us! But Jesus knew that He was giving us a great deal. He gladly died for our sins. And that is how much Jesus loved us.
