Read John 17:20  Once again, Jesus is praying in the Garden of Gethsemane just the night before He was arrested and then crucified.  If Jesus, the very Son of God, had to pray, we need to pray also.  Sometimes we think that we pray only when we need something from God.  We talk to God, just like we talk to our earthly father.  Do you think your father wants to talk to you ONLY when you want to get something from him?  It is good just to talk to our father and tell him that we love him.  Why not just talk to your heavenly Father and tell Him that you love Him?  This is a great verse because it shows us that Jesus was praying for us!  How wonderful to know the love of Jesus!  Today, pray to Jesus and just thank Him for loving you.  Don't ask Him for anything; just tell Him you are glad to be his child.
