Ruth 2:19,20 And
her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned to day? and where
wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed
her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man's name with whom
I wrought to day is Boaz. And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be
he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the
dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next
kinsmen. When Ruth came home that evening, her sack of grain was so full
that she had to drag it! Naomi was thrilled and asked Ruth where she had
gleaned that day. Ruth told her about Boaz and his kindness. Naomi gave a sly
smile and explained to Ruth that Boaz was a near kinsman of theirs. Ruth went
on to say that Boaz had let her eat lunch with his work crew and offered her
water anytime she needed it. He had even told Ruth to be sure to keep gleaning
in his fields as long as the harvest lasted. Naomi smiled again and nodded. She
knew that Boaz was looking out for Ruth. And God was looking out for Ruth as
well!
