Ruth 3:15-18 Also
he (Boaz) said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when
she (Ruth) held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and
she went into the city. And when she came to her mother in law (Naomi), she
said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to
her. And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me,
Go not empty unto thy mother in law. Then said she, Sit still, my daughter,
until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest,
until he have finished the thing this day. When Boaz woke up at midnight
and recognized Ruth in the night, he realized that she was as interested in him
as he was in her. So, early in the morning before the sun came up, Boaz sent
Ruth back to Naomi with a gift of barley grain. Ruth didn’t have a bag with
her, so Boaz filled up her cloth vail and Ruth went home before sunrise. When
Naomi heard Ruth coming in, it was still dark and she couldn’t even see who it
was. When Ruth gave her the gift of grain from Boaz, Naomi knew his intentions.
He would do what he had to in order to marry Ruth. Naomi was excited. Even
though she only had a widow daughter-in-law, she still might have
grandchildren. Naomi could see that God was still working for her. Wasn’t God
good!
