Genesis 3:2-7 And
the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the
garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God
hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And
the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know
that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be
as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good
for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to
make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto
her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened,
and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and
made themselves aprons. Satan, in the form of the serpent, deceived Eve and
got her to disobey God. Then she gave the fruit to her husband and, in willful
rebellion, he ate. And immediately, Adam and Eve knew that they were naked.
They were embarrassed and tried to cover their shame by sewing together fig
leaves for clothing. But leaves wither and don’t make good clothing. But Adam
and Eve were doing the best that they could. When the Lord God called to them
for their afternoon walk, Adam and Eve hid themselves. They had never hid from
God before and God knew that something was wrong. He questioned Adam and got
the truth. Then God questioned Eve and finally the serpent. God had to judge
Adam, Eve, the serpent, and the entire earth for Adam’s sin. And we are all
still under God’s condemnation because we are all sinners. But God still loved
Adam and Eve, and God loves us too!
This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

Genesis 3:1a
Genesis 3:1a Now the serpent was more subtil than any
beast of the field which the LORD God had made. We are not told how long
Adam and Eve lived together in the Garden of Eden in perfection. Neither are we
told when, during the creation week, that the angels were made. We are not told
when Lucifer, the chief angel, rebelled against God and tried to take over
heaven. Of course Lucifer’s rebellion was doomed from the very beginning. No
rebellion against the Almighty God could ever succeed! After his failed
rebellion and fall from heaven, Lucifer, the bright and morning star, was only
referred to as Satan. The Devil was embarrassed, humiliated, and defeated. He
could not defeat God, so he took out his anger on God’s most prized possession,
mankind, and convinced mankind to disobey God’s clear command. Satan tempted
Eve and weaseled his way between Eve and her husband. Eve fell for Satan’s lies
and ate of the forbidden fruit. She gave to her husband, and in willful
disobedience, Adam ate of the fruit as well. That very moment, sin entered into
the world. By their disobedience, Adam and Eve became sinners and passed their
sin nature on to all of their children and grandchildren and on down to us. We
are all sinners and in need of a Savior. But that is another story.

Genesis 2:18,21-24
Genesis 2:18,21-24
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make
him an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon
Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead
thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman,
and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and
flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto
his wife: and they shall be one flesh. God knew that Adam needed a wife.
And God was the only One Who could do anything about it. But since God had
finished His creation on day six, He used one of Adam’s ribs to make Eve. God
didn’t use a tarsal bone from the foot, so that the man would step all over the
woman, nor did God use part of the skull bone so that the woman would rule over
the man. But God used a rib from near the man’s heart, so that the man would
love the woman that God had made for him. And once a man marries a woman, they
are no longer two people in the sight of God. They are together as one. Mr.
Mrs. Adam! And God made them to live together as husband and wife for the rest
of their lives. God intends for us to stay married for life. Just like Adam and
Eve became one flesh, when we are married, we become one before God. Forever.

Genesis 2:8,9,15-17
Genesis 2:8,9,15-17
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man
whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree
that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the
midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And the LORD
God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep
it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden
thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou
shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely
die. God gave Adam a job and a commandment. Adam’s job was to take care of
the Garden of Eden, which the Lord God had planted. And Adam’s commandment was
to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God gave Adam
hundreds of trees of which he could freely eat. But God gave Adam only one tree
of which he was commanded not to eat. Sometimes we are like
Adam. We focus on the things that God has told us not to do instead of
focusing on the many things that God has provided for us to do. God is good,
but Satan is evil. Satan tempted Adam to sin. But God loved Adam and gave Adam
a perfect place to live. Never forget, God loves you too!

Genesis 2:2,3
Genesis 2:2,3 And
on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the
seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh
day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work
which God created and made. After His six days of work, God rested on the
seventh day. But, do you think that God was tired? I don’t think so. God can do
hard things just as easy as easy things. Exodus 20:11 tells us that God worked
for six days and rested on the seventh to give us an example. We should work
for six days and rest on the seventh just like God did. As a matter of fact, I
think God worked for a few minutes each morning making the sun or the moon or
the seas or something else simple like that, and then He sat around waiting for
the next day. God took six days to make everything just to give us an example.
God is awesome! He made everything in only six days, so I am sure that He can
take care of you and me. And He rested on the seventh day, so we should rest
and worship Him. Actually, we should worship God all week – and especially
on Sunday!

Romans 10:13
Romans10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved. Let me tell you a story about a little six year old
boy. He was at a revival meeting several years ago at a small country church. The
pastor was preaching and it was toward the end of the service. Brother
Blackburn had given the invitation and the congregation was singing. Brother
Blackburn had offered to talk to anyone who might want to trust Jesus Christ as
their Savior. The little boy wanted to be forgiven of his sins that night but
was too scared to walk to the front of the room. His friend kept pleading with
him, but the boy was just too fearful. The preacher saw the commotion and
walked back to them as the church kept singing. He asked the boy if he wanted
to be saved. The boy nodded his head. The old preacher sat down and pulled out
a quarter. He said, “I am going to give you this quarter.” And with that, he
held out his open hand. The boy hesitated. But the preacher insisted. “Go on,
take it. It’s a free gift.” The little boy finally took the quarter. Then the
preacher explained, “That is how you get saved. You see, salvation is a free
gift offered to us by God. But we have to take it. God’s salvation is not ours
until we take it.” He went on. “Just like I offered you the quarter, God offers
you salvation. And just like the quarter wasn’t yours until you took it,
eternal life isn’t yours until you ask God and receive His gift of salvation.”
The preacher finished by saying, “Will you pray and accept God’s gift of
salvation tonight?” The little boy nodded, and then bowed his head and prayed accepting
God’s gift of salvation. That was 59 years ago when I trusted Jesus Christ as
my personal Savior! What a wonderful night it was!
