Genesis 1:26-28

Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. God had a Divine council with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and decided to make man. And man was made in the image of God. But what does that mean? God is a spirit - God doesn’t have a body like we do. So how are we made like God? Well, man has a body, but man is different that all of the other animals. That is because man has a living soul that will live in eternity forever and forever. We are like God in that we have a spiritual part. And because we were made like God, God gave us dominion over all of the animals. Dominion is a word that is used for a king having rule over his kingdom. The king has dominion over all of his subjects. And God gave us dominion over all of the animals. We have great privileges, but we also have great responsibility. We are not to abuse animals, we are to supervise them and to rule over them. You are responsible to feed and take care of your dog. You are the boss. But you have a great responsibility as well. The life of your dog is in your hands. God made us like Him and God gave us responsibilities. God rules over us and He gave us the responsibility to rule over all of nature.
