Exodus 17:1-3

Exodus 17:1-3 And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? It seems like the Children of Israel were murmuring all the time. First they whined about bread and now they were whining about water. They forgot that God would take care of them. So God told Moses how to bring forth water from nowhere! Moses took his shepherd’s staff and smote the big rock in Horeb and water came out of it. It wasn’t just a little trickle; it was enough to supply over a million people and their flocks and herds too! That was a tremendous miracle. I’m sure that the Children of Israel never complained again, did they? NOT! They whined over and over again. But then, you never whine, do you?
