Exodus 34:21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh
day thou shalt rest: ... God told the Children of Israel to work for six
days and then rest on the seventh. God knew that people need two things: They
need to rest and they need to think about God. We become weary when we work
seven days a week. We need time to relax and to decompress. And then we need to
be reminded of God at least once a week. I go to church several days a week. I
need to! And we all need to be reminded of our commitment to God and to God’s
house. When Jesus resurrected on Easter Sunday morning, the Jewish disciples
began to worship on Sunday. They called it The Lord’s Day. So today we don’t
worship on the Sabbath Day, we worship on the Lord’s Day. But the Bible
principle is still the same: rest one day a week and worship God one day a
week. At least one day a week!
