Jonah 2:1,7,10 Then
Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, When my soul
fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into
thine holy temple. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah
upon the dry land. What a wonderful part of the book of Jonah! Jonah
prayed. Jonah repented. God heard Jonah’s prayer. God delivered Jonah out of
the fish’s belly. And God just didn’t let Jonah out; God commanded the fish to
puke Jonah out onto dry land! And what a sight Jonah must have been! Jonah’s
skin was bleached white as snow from the digestive juices in the fish’s belly.
And did he smell! Jonah smelled like fish vomit! Gross!! Can you imagine the
sight and smell as Jonah entered Nineveh and began to cry out loud against the
sins of everyone! What a spectacle! And God’s Holy Spirit was already
convicting the wicked hearts. Jonah was doing his part and God was doing His
part. And revival came to Nineveh! What a blessing!
