Ephesians
2:13,18,19 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh
by the blood of Christ. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto
the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Paul uses an
illustration of a citizen of a country. And Paul was using this because he was
born as a Roman citizen. Even though he was from a Jewish family, he was a
citizen of the Roman Empire. And with Paul’s citizenship came certain rights.
And then there were people in Paul’s day who were not born as Roman citizens
who bought their citizenship. After they paid a large sum of money, they became
citizens of Rome. And when we received Jesus Christ as our Savior, we were born
into God’s forever family. We became citizens of heaven. And with our
citizenship comes certain rights. We can pray to God as our Father and He
listens. And when we die, God will welcome us home into heaven, where we
belong. Why? God will welcome is into heaven because we are citizens of heaven.
We belong to God, so God’s place is our place. we have never been to heaven,
but when we do get there, we will find it home!
