Revelation 4:10,11
The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and
worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the
throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created. When anyone comes before the throne of Almighty God, they fall
down and worship. So who are these twenty-four elders? I think that they are
the twelve apostles in the New Testament and twelve prophets and kings in the
Old Testament. But whoever they are, they fall down and worship God. The only
thing of value that these elders have are their crowns that were given to them
by God for their faithful service. And in gratitude to God, they cast their
crowns down at the feet of the Lord, for He alone is worthy of their praise.
After all, God made us to praise Him. We are God’s play-things that He enjoys.
How good to be able to give God a smile!
