I was in Great Clips yesterday morning getting a haircut and Tiffany said that she’d better be careful what she said, or she might become the topic of a devotional on facebook. Summer was at the register and agreed. She said that she was going to be careful too. So, I won’t use their names today. Wait a minute, I just did! Hey, when someone mentions your name, whether in passing or in a post, what comes to mind? When someone says “Gerald” what word picture comes to your mind? That’s called a reputation. And a reputation is a tricky thing. It takes years and years to build up a reputation, but only a moment of indiscretion to tear down a reputation. Solomon said in Proverbs 22:1, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.” A good name is very valuable. So, we should be like Tiffany and Summer. Be careful what we say and do, or we may be the subject of a post on facebook. And I’d hate that, wouldn’t you? Well, maybe it’s not all that bad.
