I was at Lowe’s yesterday and had finished loading some wood and was taking my cart back inside. A man came out carrying two gallons of paint in his right hand and a painting tray and roller in the other. His hands were full. He went over to a car, obviously his, and kicked the back bumper. Now, I have seen these fancy cars with motion sensors that open the trunk when activated, but his was an older, rather junky car. But when he kicked the bumper, I noticed his wife in the driver seat, who promptly reached down, pulled the trunk opener, and the trunk popped open. I suppose technically, he did have an automatic trunk opener ... but not really. I guess you’d call it a manual, automatic trunk opener. But it worked for them. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” Although this couple had an interesting relationship, it worked for them. She didn’t have to get out of the car to help her husband, and he didn’t have to set all of his stuff down to open the trunk. They worked together to get the paint loaded. Hey, are working with your spouse, or are you working against each other? Think about it.
