I heard a radio preacher yesterday mention “50/20 vision” and I was intrigued. I thought it was supposed to be 20/20 vision. But he was talking about a reference in the Bible for the Old Testament character, Joseph … Genesis 50:20. Joseph could have blamed God for his mishaps and bad luck. But he didn’t. God gave Joseph a vision, and when Joseph revealed his vision to his brothers, they sold him into slavery. Then Joseph stood up to Mrs. Potiphar’s sexual advances, but he was thrown into prison for resisting her. Then after explaining the chief butler’s dream, and the chief butler was restored to his job, Joseph was forgotten in prison for another two years. But all of this was in God’s own good time. God was preparing Joseph, Joseph’s brothers, and Pharaoh for just the right time. After Joseph became a great leader, he explained it all to his brothers in Genesis 50:20 (the”50/20 vision” that I was talking about) “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Egypt was rescued and Joseph’s family was rescued because of God’s clever plan. Hey, are you submitting to God’s plan for your life? Are you frustrated by reverses at work and problems at home? God is in it all. Trust Him. He will do what is best for you in your life.
