I had excellent teachers in Edgewood high school. Well, most of them. I especially had great math and science teachers. That may be why I enjoy those subjects to the day. I had Mrs. Janes for Algebra II and trigonometry. She was a great teacher and spent her summers taking extra classes to keep up to date with the newest developments. I never could understand how that numbers needed to be updated, but anyway … Mrs. Janes kept up to date. But she took her teaching too personal. If several students didn’t do well on a particular test, she felt she hadn’t presented the material well. She retaught the chapter and we had a re-test. And Mrs. Janes graded on the curve. I never could figure out “the curve”. I might get five wrong on a test and still get an “A”. The curve seemed to make getting good grades easier. But make no mistake, when you face your Maker at the judgement seat, God won’t grade you on the curve! God expects perfection of you. Paul said in Romans 2:13, “For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” If you can’t keep the whole law, you can’t make it in to heaven. That’s bad news! But the good news is that Jesus took your place and Jesus paid your sin-debt on the cross of Calvary! What a wonderful exchange! Paul went on to say in Ephesians 2:8&9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” So, if you accept the gift of salvation, Jesus will take your sins upon Himself and give you His perfection in return! What a wonderful exchange! Don’t hope on the curve. Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and you’ll make a perfect score (thru Him)!
