The Christmas story has many wonderful details, but none as wonderful as the Old Testament prophecies leading to the story. Micah lived In Judah and preached about 700 years before Jesus Christ was born. Micah was there when Sennacherib destroyed Jerusalem and carried away many of his countrymen into captivity in Babylon. He said in Micah 5:2, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” How specific can it be?! And Bethlehem Ephratah was a tiny town! But what a blessing one of Bethlehem’s famous children would be! Hey, God uses little things! God used a little shepherd boy to defeat Goliath. God used a little maid to heal Naaman, the captain of the Syrian army. God used five barley loaves and two small fish to feed thousands of people, and God can use you too! Are you just an ordinary person with not much talent? Then you are exactly the one that God is looking for to use! Hey, just be available to Him. God will do the rest. P.S. If you are talented, God can use you too.
