We have a live call-in financial radio show on Moody radio here in Chattanooga. Yesterday, a listener had a question about a trust for a handicapped child so that they would be provided for after the parent was gone. Although I appreciate their concern for their child, I think we ALL should be just as concerned ALL of our children. The need for long-term care for a handicapped child may be obvious, but every son, every daughter needs care too! Often, we see special needs, but we miss the needs of others who are in plain sight, right in front of us. Each child that we see is someone’s precious darling! Each woman who we pass is someone’s wife who is dear to them. Each son is the pride of a father and mother. And we should treat them with the care that doting parents shower upon them! Jesus said in Matthew 10:42, “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.” If children are precious to the dear Lord, they should be precious to us! Hey, show compassion to others and be Christ-like. Don’t become calloused to their needs. Jesus will be proud of you!
