My neighbor was out on the street trying to teach her little daughter to ride a bicycle. I remember those days with my children (and grandchildren). The little girl, and her mama, were having trouble with the 20-inch bicycle because it was too big for the little girl. So, I brought out one of my old bicycles. It was a sixteen-inch tiny bike with training wheels. The neighbor girl should be able to do a little better. Training wheels keep the rider going straight when they tend to wobble left and right. The training wheels remind me of a good Bible word, “circumspectly,” found in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Paul reminded the folk at Ephesus not to waver to the left nor to the right (like a wobbling kid on a bicycle with training wheels), but to live boldly, moving straight ahead, serving the Lord. Ephesians 5:15&16, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Hey, use your time wisely today! Use each minute exactly the way that you want to ... serving the Lord with your time.
