Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. This is a good verse,
but a puzzling verse. When a loved one gets cancer, should we rejoice? When
someone that we know dies, should we rejoice? No, not really. So what is Paul
saying in our verse? Did you know that sometimes bad things happen to good
people? Sometimes God is using bad things in our lives to teach us to trust
Him. God may use bad things that happen in our lives to teach other people to
trust Him. God may even let bad things happen in our lives so that we will pray
more. God may let bad things happen in our lives so that others can see how we trust
God in bad times. In each situation, God knows what He is doing and He is in
charge. He still loves us and remembers where we are. So in every situation, we
can rejoice in God, because He loves us and is taking us through. He will be
with us. And for that, we can be happy.
