Genesis 3:15

Genesis 3:15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. This is the first prophecy about Jesus Christ, the Messiah, who would be born about 4600 years later. The Bible is the only Holy book that has prophecy in it. That is because all of the other holy books are just written by man. They are good, moral books, but they are not supernatural. They are not the Word of God. God told holy men what to write and they wrote the Bible. Only God knows the future. He knows what is going to happen before it happens and He has written it in His Word, the Bible. Our verse is God talking to Satan, who was using the serpent to deceive Eve. God told Satan that there would be enmity – that is constant trouble – between him and the coming Messiah. And this prophecy is for the death of Jesus on the cross. Our verse talks about a bruised head and a bruised heel. A wound to the heel is painful, but a wound to the head is fatal. Jesus’ death was painful for Him, but not fatal – Jesus came back to life on Easter Sunday morning! But Satan’s wound was fatal for him. Satan will be sentenced to everlasting punishment in the Lake of Fire. Satan will be punished for his deception of Eve. I am glad God keeps the score, aren’t you?
